Whether she’s creating beautiful hairstyles through ChellyBraids, encouraging women through her God Girlies podcast, or opening God’s Word every Saturday morning, Michele is passionate about walking in her purpose and helping others discover theirs.

Her favorite verse, Jeremiah 1:5, is a reminder that before we were ever seen by the world, we were already known, chosen, and set apart by God. 🦋

7 Minutes in Heaven with ✨ Michele ✨

We sat down with Michele for this week’s 7 Minutes in Heaven to learn more about her faith, her journey, and the heart behind the woman she is becoming. Here’s what she had to say.

Q: Who are you becoming in this season of your life?

M: In this season of my life, I’m becoming rooted in my identity—not in who the world says I am, but in who God says I am. I’m learning to love myself, step out on faith, meet new people, and simply be me.

I’m learning to lean on the Lord in everything I do. For so long, I made myself my own idol, running myself ragged thinking I had to keep it all together. But now, my life is full of surrender. Every day I’m learning to lay everything at God’s feet, trust Him completely, and rely on my Father for the strength I need.

Q: What’s one area where you’ve seen God transform your heart?

M: God has been transforming my heart when it comes to love. For so long, I looked to people to be my source of love. I unknowingly made an idol out of friendships, relationships, and even motherhood, expecting them to fill places in my heart that only God was meant to fill.

The Lord gently revealed that I had been searching for living water in broken wells. Like the woman at the well, Jesus met me in my emptiness—not with condemnation, but with compassion. He offered me the living water that satisfies every longing my heart carried.

As He has drawn me closer to Him, He has been teaching me what love truly is. He has shown me how to love others, even through painful situations, with grace, forgiveness, and compassion. But one of the greatest transformations has been learning how to love myself through His eyes—not based on what I do or how others see me, but because I am deeply loved by Him.

Now I understand that when God becomes my source, I am free to love people without expecting them to be what only He can be. His love has become the well that never runs dry.

Q: When do you feel closest to God?

M: I feel closest to God when I’m in worship. Whether I’m at church or in my car listening to gospel music, it ministers to my soul. In those moments, I can feel the Holy Spirit, and it reminds me of God’s presence, peace, and love.

Q: If your younger self could meet you today, what do you think she’d be most proud of?

M: She would be most proud of my strength and resilience. Through everything I’ve been through, I’ve still found a reason to smile, love people, and continue showing kindness. I’m proud of the woman I’ve become and my ability to keep showing up as the best mother, wife, and friend I can be.

Q: What do you hope people experience when they leave a conversation with you?

M: I hope people experience the comfort of being able to relax and be themselves in my presence. I want them to feel safe enough to let their guard down, let God’s light shine through them, and be their genuine, authentic selves.

Q: If you could start over with everything you know now, what advice would you give your daughter about life and relationships?

M: I would give my daughter the advice to never ignore discernment. When God reveals something to you, pay attention and trust what He is showing you. God is always with you, but life can become harder when we ignore that still, small voice of wisdom guiding us away from the wrong path. Trust God’s direction, even when it’s difficult, because He sees what we cannot.

M: Walking in a room and your souls shines brighter than your beautiful face.
